So I'm sure all of you iDevice owners out there are aware that Apple just released Game Center on OS 4.1. It is available to download now - get it! It is available on the iPhone (3GS onwards) and iPod Touch (2G onwards). Not all games are available on Game Center yet, but look out for app updates over the next few weeks.

Anyway, my username is shreyk. Add me! I'm pretty terrible at games, but I'd love to see how all of you are doing. Share your thoughts, reviews and Game Center usernames below.

Have mental health problems?
Yeah, you do.
I mean, you're desperate enough that you've come here, to the forums of a podcast famous for childish mockery and random abuse, to ask for help.
And we can help, at least some of us can, and we will: when we finish abusing and mocking you, of course.
Seriously, it sort of makes sense: Here, you're anonymous, and I don't mean in any guy-fawkes mask wearing, $cientologist-baiting, 4chan sort of way: we honestly don't know who you are, or what your problem or problems (I'm looking at you, Tomalonge) are.
And you don't know us, To you I'm a fhaggy psychiatric nursing student with a picture of a cartoon troll that happens to slightly resemble me, and to me you're (for example) a made-up name and a picture of a cartoon supervillain from the sixties that nobody remembers who uses big words a lot.
The anonymity helps because it allows you to be honest, and not try to preserve your dignity or slant things in your favour, and it allows us to express our honest opinions without fear of being carted off in a van by people in white coats.
Okay, REALLY seriously, I have some experience in talking to emo people over the internet, mostly depressed people, but I've worked in hospitals with people that have all sorts of psychiatric conditions.

HOWEVER, I'm not the only one here, and many of the members of this forum will have gone through the same things you are going through, from one side or the other and will be able to relate and share their experiences hopefully in a way that will prove useful to you or at least show you that your not alone.
So I invite all with problems, or who might be able to help with problems, or who can just relate to nutters in general to post here.
Friendly ears, we got.
Shoulder's to cry on? Yep.
Sage and sisterly advice? That's you, Kate.
Thread plagiarism? Gotcha covered.
I suggest we leave most of the mockery out of this thread, since it has a serious intent. Or leave it to Patrick, who is the professional.

So, got troubles? Pull up a chair! Some people wait WAY too long before they take their problems to a twenty something American kid with a naked cartoon picture of himself eating pizza and a banana...

Go visit the original thread and between the two you can totally reboot your life, huzzah!
Okay, REALLY seriously, I have some experience counseling teens in relationship stuff, mostly gay-les-bi, but I'm not totally unfamiliar with the trials of heterosexuals, and I have a lot of personal and professional experience involving human behavior, mostly long on theory.

So I wrote this on the Escapist forums, and I figured I'd post it here to see what opinions you all had on the film. If you haven't seen it, you should. Right now. Or at least, today. It is absolutely fantastic, and if you like anything about anything you will fucking love it. Every subtext in that movie seems universal and timeless and that just about never happens. Before you mention Michael Cera, see below.

The original thread was about an article by Bob Chipman, aka MovieBob, concerning all the video game themes present in the movie catching on in future films, which seems pretty likely. I won't link the article because it has massive spoilers right in the beginning which have caught some people off guard. And yeah, I mad about the responses in the thread. I very mad.

A hell of a lot of people have their heads squarely up their asses. What's all this about "pretentiousness?" What? I don't sense any, you're lashing out against a teen fad that will die out in less than twenty years and it's making you look stupid.

I doubt any of you bothered to see the film, lest you suffer the almighty awkward of Cera. To be honest, while he tried his very best to be grating, the character was written with bold decisions that really made him likable. If you can't see past one goddamn actor and just start slamming the movie left and right for little things you quite probably only read about on the internet because you never actually saw the damn thing, and then you come here of all places to blab about how awful the movie is when it was the most inspired and risky film I've seen in a decade, and beautifully executed on top of that, you're a cretin and a moron, bottom line, no denying it. You know who else in Hollywood has one thing they bring to every single movie they're in? EVERYBODY. Morgan Freeman, John Travolta, Edward Norton, Woody Harrelson, Clint "I Am Movies" Eastwood, pick anyone. Get the hell over it, it's not going away until Cera gets older. It isn't time for him to be cast in a role that demands a range beyond awkward to sad-awkward to sexy-awkward (ugh) to disgustingly-sweet-awkward, but I honestly think this movie is about as close as it's gotten to something new. And sure, the plot's very condensed, but they handled the fights really, really well and it did not drag on even once. If you absolutely can't get past your own petty issues with an actor, don't bother to judge. Just say "I dislike Michael Cera so much that I won't even try to appreciate this film," and move on. Good god.

Also, Bob isn't saying it's the second coming of Christ. He's saying that it's probably going to be a serious gateway for video game tropes in films to come, maybe for a long time. I agree and I'm excited. And since when is number five in the box office several weeks after release not pretty good? Are you trying to say any movie is worthless unless it's number one for the entire summer and makes 100 times what it cost to make? It wasn't trying to be just Triple A, it was trying to be a great film with production values, and it succeeded. People like you put it where it is, and maybe its marketing campaign had a hand in it, too, because the ads did not do it any sort of justice. Nevertheless, Scott Pilgrim is going to be influential to somebody out there with a budget, just like every other risky film that catches on even a little bit. Too bad, so sad, go bash it on Rotten Tomatoes if you for some very worrying reason can't contain your rage about teen fads, originality, and fun.

This movie blew me the hell away. I was not at all expecting it to be as incredible as it was. The camera, the effects, the transitions, and pretty much everything else was really out there, and combined in fresh ways that made the whole thing a very fun ride. Anyone who hasn't seen it, do yourself a favor and watch it while it's still in theaters.

So I'm kinda interested in getting back into skateboarding. I used to skate back when I was a kid, and learned a few basic tricks such as the ollie and a really shoddy kickflip that I landed once. It was really quite dire. But now I'm considering getting back into it, as a serious hobby now that I'm bored of gaming. So I was wondering if there were any skaters on the forum who might be able to offer tips on what kind of board I should get and tips on learning tricks etc. I tried skating the other day and I've pretty much forgotten everything, especially balance, so I'm looking for something that's easy to control and generally good for beginners.
